The Valdisian Trinket Box

Discover the legend behind the wooden box from the desolate lands of Valdisia, where exiled magicians and dark onyx magic permeate the cursed air of the lands beyond the Guardian Wall.

Legend has it...

The ornate box was part of a forbidden blood pact between two families consummated during the reign of the Harvest King. The names of the families involved have been lost through the centuries. However, according to Jeshun—the Huxtelan Healer and Counselor to King Leopold Throne—the participants came from prominent houses; one with roots of noble blood and the other rooted in darkness. Legend has it that to break the pact, one must find a way to retrieve what lies inside. No one who has tried has ever succeeded, nor lived to describe what resides within the wooden box.

The Lantern of Lyre

No one in Iosia journeys to the Forgotten Regions anymore. The Lantern of Lyre is one of the reasons why, for in the Forgotten Regions, magic and mayhem are rumored to exist still.

Legend has it...

On the first night of the Pink Moon, on the Isle of Ernes, at the dewberry fields' edge, a brass lantern glows; its flames, unnatural and hypnotic. Shades of violet and blue pulse and swirl in a hypnotic dance, beckoning, not with words, but with memories long forgotten. Whispers of youth…of belonging…of love, promising what cannot be given—a return to the past. The lantern's flames intensify as they feed on the souls of the lonely, the lost, and the broken-hearted, leaving behind victims hollow, with no memories at all…not even their name.

The Serpent's Stare

The Serpent's Stare, an ancient Huxtelan poem taught to young Iosians as a macabre nursery rhyme, but many believe that it is not a fable, but a curse.

Legend has it...

The poem's author was a Huxtelan, her name carried away by the winds of time long ago. Local lore declares that she went mad shortly after putting quill to parchment. Thus, Huxtelans proclaimed the serpent real, despite the Thorne King deeming it a fable…a child's fairy tale. They say the serpent's stare is a subtle gleam, and those who've met its gaze carry it in their nightmares forever because… It does not blink. It does not pity. It is void of mercy. The Serpent's Stare remembers everything it gathers...especially that which desires to remain hidden.
